what kind of poeple would like LOTR?
i am 17,gal,from hk.....i wonder what age range would others lotr's fans be,females or males,kids or adults and where from?i really want to know that,and also why do u like this film?any speacial reasons?
and who is your favourite character in this film?i do really like ARAGORN,but in really life,i do like Elijah wood,so how about all of you?

Well, I am definitely a LotR fan, female, 30 years old, from the US.
Why do I like the film? I think it is because Jackson managed to stay true to the spirit of Tolkien, if not the exact events. I read Tolkien long ago and fell in love with that world. I was enchanted with the story of the struggle of good vs. evil and I still am, to this day. I feel like Jackson did a wonderful job of keeping to that epic, larger-than-life feeling without compromising too much to accomodate the non-fantasy, non-Tolkien crowd. (Though, I will admit that there were a couple of scenes in LotR:TT that I could've done without. Legolas surfing down the stairs being the primary one...)
Favorite characters? *grins* Pippin and Merry! While they may not be the central heroes of the story, I simply adore their exuberance and their desire to help, to aid in any way possible, despite the fact that they are scared out of their wits most of the time.

I like the film, but loved most the books when I read them in the 70s. Without the books I wouldn't be as big a fan of the movies probably, though they do seem to stand alone pretty well. I'm 44, male. My favorite character in both books and movies is probably gollum

43 male. Read the books in the 70's too and loved them.
