"The other way Dallas, theother way"
watching Alien for the guzillionth time. Just had to get Ripley on this forum although maybe you've already discussed its ever greatness.
Love Aliens too. The others ...well they have Aliens in them...
Just really rare to have such a good heroine.

I agree. Ripley was a superb character. SHe seemed very realistic as a person. I also loved the first two, the second even better than the first. After that, well yeah, they had aliens in them.

I saw the first two films and loved them. They were outstanding. I skipped the rest when friends panned them. I suppose I will rent them.

I've only seen the most recent Alien film, and it didn't exactly inspire me......but since everyone I know raves about the first one I'll have to rent it or something.

I would definitely rent the first two. They are both very good.

Yeah, the last one is a totally different kind of film. The first one is just normal mining ship personel thrown in to a terrifying situation that they have no training or weapons for. More tense, better characterisation, direction...just better, especially for its time. I think the last one was just an excuse to use lots of disturbing Geiger type imagery, but it's not as much of a thriller.
