And so we have Guns and Roses - without Axl Rose.....  What can this be???  Apart from a good rock band I mean - even Axls former band mates have given up on him....  Sadness.

It is sad.

G n R was poised to be a mega hit band after their first hit. But they just crashed and burned.

Ah, so true........  However, I do like Velvet Revolver...... They are much better than expected, and I'm left with the feeling that Axl wrote a lot less material than he pretends, since Velvet Revolver sounds like a modern version of GnR and nothing Axl has done since has sounded anything like it.  Maybe Izzy Stradlin and slash really did write all that stuff on Appetite for Destruction.

Axl Rose reminded me of Ted Nugent the first time I heard GnR. A couple of friends got on my case because I said it was One-shot Charlie.
I also said the band had a BUNCH of talent, and would be better off with less of a poser and more of an artist fronting it. As a guitarist, I heard some great stuff.
Bands without the original front seldom go far. If you listen to the band instead of Morrison on The Doors work, it's fantastic, but they have to be "Morrison's band"
That really is sad, but Morrison had one heck of a lot of talent. Rose doesn't. He's a dud.
