Thousands of free eBooks - by Brad on 16:08 12 Apr 2004
Manybooks.net has over 10,000 free ebooks available for free download.  Most of these are the public domain classics.  What makes these nice is they are available in a variaty of ebook reader formats and also plain text.

Most of the ebook readers have free Windows, Mac and all the PDA formats.  So you can read either at your computer or on your PDA.  Links to the readers are on that site.  I recommend the free Palm Reader software for Win, Mac or PalmOS it is very elegant
and attractive. You are not limited to reading these just on a PDA but on your Win or Mac computer too.

Back to Manybooks.net check out the reference categories for some goodies.  I snagged a copy of The Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce.

There are tons of Edgar Rice Burroughs Mars and Tarzan books and others, and a bunch of Lord Dunsay fantasy novels.

In the childrens section are lots of Tom Swift novels.

You really need to check this site out.

Heh,  I've now installed both Palm Reader and Adobe Reader on both my desktop and laptop computers and also my handheld (Palm PDA) so I can have a book handy to read no matter where I'm at.

I hardly know where to start but I may read some ERB,  I think I saw Pelucidar in there.
