The Twilight Zone will be on Wed nights on UPN starting Sept. 18th right after Enterprise.

As a fan of the original I'm looking forward to this.

Cool to hear they are doing a new twilight zone.  It will all depend on the writers, of course.  I'm going to have to watch too. I did love the original.  I think I have a story that would be perfect for them as well.  It's called "I Can Spend You."

Seems like a lot of new series are coming out.  My problem is that I so seldom watch TV I never catch enough of a series to really get involved.

Gee. I wonder how long before these episodes are on the Sci-Fi channel.

Yeah, I have to schedule it.  At least I can tell myself that it is for business since I have to make an effort to stay in touch with genre entertainment.  I like seeing episodic programs like Twilight Zone where I can miss one show and not be lost or out of the loop.  Also the writing has to be taunt like in a short story which I think improves the calibur.

This was a good show.  I liked both stories last night.  I am glad they are sticking with the original TZ format.

NPR (National Public Radio) did a nice story about the original TZ.  Prior to TZ Rod Serling had gotten himself in trouble with sponsors because his non genre stuff contained too much commentary about class, racism, politics etc.  So he came up with TZ.  Back in 1958 - 59 science fiction was dismissed as a small fringe niche.  So suddenly Serling could explore all the same things as before but because it was SF the sponsors were not even watching -- no complaints.  He could pretty much do whatever he wanted.

Back to the present -- i like this formate because you can bring in guest stars each week playing roles you would never expect and it is like a short story format so the writing has to be fairly tight.
