The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 21:40 04 Jun 2003
Anwyn is not far away, and beams as Oisin exits her father's study. She bounces over to him, smiling up at him, her questions written plainly on her face. Oisin barely has time to brace himself. "How was it? What did you two talk about? was he able to help you? Will you be coming back here? Is there anything I can do to help?" Her eagerness and smiling countenance almost makes Oisin forget what is really happening, and she bounces slightly as she awaits her answers...

---

The warrior sets his bladed pike at rest and lifts his visor, giving Mornalath the first good look at his new ally.

The man is rather handsome, with dirty blonde hair and a piercing set of blue eyes. His helmet comes off, and Mornalath can see that he sports a neatly trimmed beard. He seems rather young, probably a few years older than Mornalath himself, and his features are marred only by the scar that runs from the bottom of his left earlobe only to disappear under his shirt. He extends his hand. "My name is Alexius, I am a knight, a lancer of the Order of the Black Rose. We would like you to join us."

---

Caliena finishes her studies and sets down her book. She stands and stretches. As she does so, a small whisper of sound catches her attention. "Elder Ilyana?" she calls out softly, thinking that maybe the Elder has some other task she would like completed. She lets out a startled scream as the door to the room bangs open, the heavy wood cracking loudly as it bursts inwards. Elder Ilyana is there, and her face is serious and... bloody. "Run, child!" she commands, and she motions down the hallway. Caliena freezes for only a second before bolting the direction which Ilyana indicates. As she exits the room she catches a glimpse of some horrible winged creature, the Elders battling it with their divine powers.

She reaches an exit and turns this way and that... she knows that Oisin went to the church of Oghma...

---

Kahabros chuckles softly to himself as the Zovvut wreaks havoc within the church. It had caught them by surprise... as he had known it would. Still, it had been easy to convince it that tasty young human flesh resided inside the temple. This particular one was strong, but not too bright. A great distraction, all things considered. Kahabros knew that the children of the temple would be loosed to safety, and he watches as the Tyrrans from across the way rally to the defense of the temple. The zovvut will perish, but it does not matter. The quarry he is seeking has just exited the building. Smiling, he takes on the form of a child himself. One he killed long ago, and quickly makes his way across the street...
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 21:53 04 Jun 2003
Oisin shakes his head and laughs quietly despite the gravity of the situation at hand. "Your father gave me a powerful weapon against Kahabros...and, I'm sure that I'll be back, soon. I need to come back and speak to Merkanian about the Fire Knives."

With a touch of regret, he says, "I need to go, now, though. The sooner I talk to my Elders, the quicker we can start getting everything set in motion. I'm only one man. There will need to be many of us working together, from many churches, if we are to evacuate."

He gestures to Alfred to follow and begins making his way back to the temple entrance. Ever curious and cheerful, Ann falls in beside him, escorting him to the door. As they approach the temple antechamber, Oisin says, "Could I ask you to do me a favor? I promised Caliena....my student...that I would try to go with her to visit her family. However, circumstances as they are, I don't think that will be possible." He looks to Ann, "Would you mind taking her?" He chuckles, "She soaks up knowledge like a sponge, herself. I think the two of you would get along wonderfully."
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 22:03 04 Jun 2003
Ann smiles, seemingly very glad that her father could help. At Oisin's request that she accompnay his student she seems to pause for a moment... only to re-emerge, bright as ever. "I would be honored!" she exclaims. "When do we need to leave?" she asks.

As they near the exit, Anwyn catches the sleev of Oisin's robe and says, "You better come back..." her tone is warm, and her eyes soft as she looks up at him, the hint of her meaning scarcely hidden, "... with these robes. They belong to the temple." she finishes, her eyes taking a light tone as she finishes the sentence in a way that Oisin thinks may be a joke. Her hand lightly brushes his as he departs, and he catches a glimpse of her from the corner of his eyes as he descends the stairs in front of the building. She's waving, an odd look of, something, across her face.

Oisin turns from the temple to Oghma and heads towards his own. He is not far before he hears the sound of fighting...
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 22:13 04 Jun 2003
Oisin grins, relieved that she agreed to go. It would do his heart good to get the both of them far away from the city and all danger here. "I don't know, yet," he answers her question of departure time. "I'm not sure when she had originally planned to leave but, I'm aiming for 'as soon as possible'. I'll talk to her when I get back to the temple."

At her light teasing, Oisin laughs aloud, shaking his head at her as he heads down the steps. He calls out as he descends, "Fear not! The robe is safe with me. Besides, you get to hold my robe hostage. Think of it as collatoral..." He pauses at the bottom and looks up, seeing her turning to head back inside. He simply stands there for a moment, a slightly foolish grin settling upon his lips and a blush upon his cheeks.

Once he sees her disappear, he continues on towards the temple of Waukeen, his thoughts a jumble as he tries to work out exactly what to do, now. Certainly, speak to Elder Raythen, no doubt there....

As the sound of battle reaches his ears, Oisin mutters a distraught, "Oh, no..." His hand goes down to his mace, pulling it free as he begins to sprint towards his church, Alfred plodding heavily long behind him.
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 11:07 05 Jun 2003
Alfred speeds up as best he can, though he cannot match Oisin in a run, and the two make their way down the Boulevard towards the temple to Waukeen. Oisin can see that the Elders have driven back some foul beast from the temple, and now the Tyrrans are arriving. The beast they are fighting is mosr certainly a demon or devil of some sort: pale white skin, well-muscled, it's hands end in barbed saw-like talons, and it has a a pair of bat wings protruding from its shoulders as well as a third eye set into its forehead.

The Tyrrans are making short work of it.

Oisin casts a glance around, and sees several of the children, students at the church, looking on in horror and awe as the beast is brought down. He heads that way, hoping that Caliena will be with them. He scans the group but does not see her, and he pauses, catching his breath. As he stands there, mace drawn, he looks over the crowd, knowing she can't be far. A feeling of dread winds its way into his heart, and then he spots her. She is about half a block away, another child at her side. They are walking away from the temple.
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 14:20 05 Jun 2003
Seeing that the Tyrrans have the demon well in hand, Oisin turns his attention to his student. Relief washes over him as he sees that she is well and unhurt. Or, at least, well enough to be moving away from the fight. His mace is still in his hand as he begins to jog towards Caleina, calling out, "Caliena! Caliena....are you okay?"

He glances at the other child, wondering if it is another of the temple's students.
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 14:34 05 Jun 2003
Caliena doesn't turn around, though the other child at her side does so. It is a young boy, and his smile seems somehow... wrong. Too big, too toothy... and with a start Oisin watches as the young man sets his hand upon Caliena's shoulder, the both of them disappearing from his sight. He sees them reappear, much, much further down the street, and moving away from the Boulevard of Faith. The young male turns back towards Oisin, an obscene gesture accompanying his feral smile. Caliena seems oblivious.

At this rate Oisin knows that he will not catch them.
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 14:46 05 Jun 2003
"Son of a bitch!" Oisin grits between his teeth, his grip tightening upon his mace as he watches...something...someone...make off with Caliena. It could be some agent of Kahabros or even the devil himself. Unfortunatley, there is no way for Oisin to be able to tell for sure from where he is now. Frantically, he begins to look around for a faster mode of transportation....maybe a horse or wagon or anything.
The Legend Grows - by EvilLuke on 15:13 05 Jun 2003
Jerralath let's the dog sniff him for a moment, but pulls his hand away as soon as he thinks it is safe. "Uh, nice wolf. I can only hope it doesn't bite at this point."

He looks back at Lilith, "I can offer you no guarantees as to my assistance, but tell me your plan and I'll tell you what I might can do."

******

Mornalath takes the other man's hand. "I am Mornalath Vinarant, warrior. Who is the group of which you speak and why do you want me to join?"
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 15:33 05 Jun 2003
The Waukeenar looks about, knowing that he has to find something, and fast, lest he lose his beloved student from his sight altogether. A horse tethered nearby grabs his attention, and he heads towards it, mounting it even as he unties it from the post. He'll simply have to apologize and return the horse later...

Spurring it into action, he gallops down the street towards the retreating forms of Caliena and the boy. he galnces behind, and though Alfred cannot run, the construct is moving at a much faster pace than normal, and is not lost completely as Oisin spurs the horse forward, his mace out and leveled towards the back of the young boy... or whatever it is.

Caliena still does not turn as Oisin approaches, and the boy vanishes from sight as he nears. Caliena stops walking and simply stands there as Oisin closes the last few feet.
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 15:45 05 Jun 2003
Oisin dismounts before the horse has even fully stopped, resulting in him landing with a rather undignified skip-hop sequence as he untangles his foot from the stirrup. Moving quickly to Caliena's side, his gaze darts about, seeking the object of his ire even as he places a protective hand upon his student's shoulder and says, "Caliena...are you okay? Come on, we need to get back to the temple. It should be safe, now."
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 15:57 05 Jun 2003
Caliena does not look up at him as he touches her, nor respond as he speaks, and Oisin feels a sudden odd pain in his chest. he looks at the face of his student, just as Alfred catches up, and what he sees there makes him gasp. Her face is slack, and a tiny bit saliva slides from the corner of her mouth. Her eyes are empty, and her pupils are dilated.. almost as if she were drugged. She simply is not there.

As Oisin watches, her eyes take on a familar yellow sheen. Kahabros. She blinks, then stretches, as if from a long sleep. Her eyes settle upon Oisin and her voice is her own, but tinged with malice as she says, "I like this young body." Her hands moving over herself in a very disturbing way and she grins as she says, "What do you propose to do now, Waukeenar? Strike me down, as well as your beloved student?" Caliena's laughter, somehow bent and foul, assaults Oisin's ears.

The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 16:12 05 Jun 2003
Hatred the likes of which Oisin has never felt before blooms within him like some vibrant and deadly blossom. His knuckles grow white upon the handle of his mace and his free hand slis down to grasp the front of Caliena's dress, holding the fiend in place without actually hurting his student. He swallows hard, his voice lost to him.

Caliena...or Kahabros? Oisin's mind races, trying to decide, fighting between his overwhelming hatred of the vile creature that has done this and the love he feels for his student, who after all this time he considers to be blood-kin, his little sister, regardless of her true birth origin. On the one hand, he wants nothing more than to utter Kahabros' true name, to listen to the creature shriek in pain and fear as he realizes that Oisin holds his destruction in his mind. All it woud take would be a single word, a lone, vile and viscious word to bring the devil to a state of helplessness.

But, what would that do to Caliena? Has Kahabros already killed her and eaten her, making this simply a mockery of his little sister? Or is it still her? Is she still alive and buried down there somewhere, dominated and controlled?

Tears form in his eyes and his body trembles with the desire to strike Kahabros down, here and now, before all the gods whose temples line these streets. The book told him that Kahabros kind kills and eats their victims before taking their form. Then, most likely, Caliena is dead and they will find her remains somewhere nearby.

But, he can't do it. Oisin can't strike down Kahabros now for fear that he is wrong. He won't....can't...take the chance that he would be killing Caliena, too.

He finds he can barely speak, his voice tight with rage. Oisin's words come out like the hissing of a dagger as he asks, "What is it that you want?"
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 16:25 05 Jun 2003
Caliena smiles and taps her chin thoughtfully, mockingly, before she says, "I think I want to humiliate you... but not before I go have some fun with this body." Her eyes come to rest upon Oisin's as she says, "Oh, she's in here, with me. I think she is very frightened. She keeps crying out for you. Why! I think she loves you!" Caliena giggles, and then for a moment her eyes become panic-stricken, and her own. With a cry of startled fear and recognition she clutches at him in a hug, "Oh, Oisin!"

But that sweetness is short-lived as the mocking grin returns, "Oh, Oisin!" Kahabros says, giggling maniacly.

Alfred's huge falchion is drawn, and Kahabros hisses as the weapon is freed. The tip of the huge blade is leveled at Caliena's throat. Alfred seems almost... angry as a single word issues roughly from his throat. "LEAVE."

Caliena's eyes grow wide for a moment, then a rumbling chuckle issues forth, most certainly not that of Oisin's young student. "And what do you propose to do? Cut me down?"

By now the trio is getting strange looks from passersby, and Caliena/Kahabros lets go her/his hug upon Oisin. Caliena looks at Oisin questioningly. "What is the worst transgression one person can do unto another?" As she asks her question, she looks meaningfully at Alfred, then at Oisin.
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 16:55 05 Jun 2003
Oisin raises an eyebrow and harrumphs. "Why would I tell you that, beast? If you knew what I felt to be the worst transgression, that is what you would do."

"....but not before I go have some fun with this body."

Kahabros' words echo through Oisin's mind as he feverishly contemplates what to do, how to end this...this horrible violation. What the devil does is abhorrent to Oisin, for this is a rape of Caliena more thorough than what anyone could do physically.

However, in that statement...perhaps....perhaps therein lies the devil's mistake. For, yes, he has her body and that means that he has inherited all the weakness that comes with inhabiting a nine year old girl. Certainly, he will still be able to cast his spells but, if he is quickly rendered unconscious.....

Precious Waukeen, please help me. Help me stop this and keep Caliena safe....Please forgive me for what I'm about to do...

Moving quickly, he strikes, trying to knock Caliena unconscious. If he can get her back to the temple, perhaps everything can be set right.
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 17:46 05 Jun 2003
Caliena sees the blow coming her way, and tries to dodge, but runs into Alfred's wall-like form. Oisin's hand, still wrapped about the haft of his made, cracks against her temple, and she collapses silently, out cold.

"We must get her to the temple." Oisin states, and Alfred scoops her up effortlessly, then turns and begins heading back to the temple as quickly as he can go. Oisin mounts up and follows.

Once back at the temple he can see that the brutish beast has been dispatched, and several clergy are examining its body, Tyrrans keeping curious passersby at bay. Oisin spots Elder Rathyen and Ilyana. They come rushing over once they see caliena's limp form over Alfred's shoulder. "Is she alright?" Ilyana asks, as Alfred carefully hands her over, more gently than any construct normally would.

"What happened?" Elder Rathyen asks, his hands moving in practiced patterns over her as tries to determine what is wrong. Oisin quickly tells them of what happened, leaving out no detail, since he knows that any small clue might give them the information they need to heal her.

Suddenly, Caliena's eyes snap open, and her lips curl into a snarl as she punches Elder Rathyen in the face, the startled cleric falling backwards more from surprise than from the force of the blow. Elder Ilyana is already casting a spell, and Oisin can see the Tyrrans looking in their direction, Bargatz amongst them. One of the men is rubbing his holy symbol and praying or chanting, obviously casting a spell.

Caliena picks herself up, slapping Ilyana across the face and disrupting the spell of the older woman, who blinks in surprise. She then goes for the dagger at Ilyana's belt.

Alfred turns towards Oisin, the unspoken question clear as several Tyrrans draw their weapons and start to head their way.

Oisin points at Caliena and says, "Restrain her, Alfred, but do not hurt her." The large construct steps forward, and Caliena's eyes go wide, eyes that are yellow like Kahabros'. Alfred reaches out one large hand, catching Caliena by the shirt. He lifts, the small girl easily lifted off the ground by his strength. She struggles and flails, but her blows have no effect upon Alfred in the slightest. Still, her struggles weaken the cloth, and it tears, her shirt ripping and letting her slide free. She grins, landing upon her feet and ducking under Alfred's arm and running towards the Tyrrans.

Oisin gives chase, even as she hisses and leaps at the first one. He starts, and brings up his sword...
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 17:54 05 Jun 2003
"No!" Oisin cries, and doubles his speed, trying desperately to put himself between the sword and Caliena, flinging himself forward as quickly as his legs will carry him.

Kahabros may control her, but there is still a very frightened little girl in there, a scared girl who Oisin cares for very much. And he will readily put himself between danger and Kahabros if it means also sparing Caliena....
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 18:51 05 Jun 2003
The Tyrran seems to hear Oisin and heed what he says, and he strikes at her with the flat of his blade. Oisin reaches them just as the blade smacks forcefully into her ribs, the weapon drawing blood despite the care that the Tyrran has taken. Caliena crumples to the ground and starts sobbing, her body shuddering as she wails. Bargatz, the next Tyrran coming to investigate, stops in his tracks, clutching his head as he arches his back, grunting with some psychological strain.

Oisin is at Caliena's side, and she recognizes him, clinging to him as his arms go protectively about her.

Bargatz, on the other hand, laughs heartily, his eyes now burning yellow as he draws his greatsword. "As much fun as that young budding body could have been, I do believe that this one will prove to be quite entertaining as well." The greatsword flashes in an arc, the Tyrran next to Bargatz screaming out as the massive blade slides into his chest. He slumps to the ground, the dirt turning to bloody mud.

Then, Alfred is there, his massive falchion meeting that blade of Bargatz. The Tyrran's eyes burn with a delighted gleam, and Oisin realizes that now is the chance they need to get Caliena to safety. She seems to be unconscious in his arms...
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 19:14 05 Jun 2003
Quickly, Oisin backs up, cradling Caliena protectively against his chest. Looking to Alfred, he cries out, "Disable him, if possible, but don't kill him. He's innocent, too!"

He staggers back a couple of steps and quickly begins forming the words of a prayer, calling upon Waukeen to watch over the girl in his arms and protect her from the evil influence that is present this day.

Looking back up, he knows that as much as he personally wants to get Caliena to safety, he cannot simply turn away from this battle and let others continue to be hurt. Catching the eye of another of his clergy, Oisin shifts Caliena into the other Waukeenar's arms, "Get her inside and to safety. Watch her closely, in case the devil tries to take her again and be ready to defend yourself should he do so."

"Everyone!" he calls out, "Protect yourselves, now. He'll simply continue to move from person to person, otherwise."

Good advice, that, and he truly wishes that he had prayed for two castings of Protection from Evil this day so he could heed his own advice. However, the one he did have was well spent, protecting Caliena.
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 19:38 05 Jun 2003
Oisin can clearly see a flicker of hatred in Alfred's eyes, but he obeys the command of his master and does not strike to kill. Greatsword and falchion clash, steel ringing upon steel in the streets of Gromstead. Bargatz laughs like a gleeful child, the greatsword arcing in great sweeps. Several of the Tyrrans cast spells, and Oisin recognizes the protections warding them from possession. Rathyen stands and casts, thrusting his hand towards Bargatz... a spell of Dismissal. Oisin somehow knows it will not work and is proved correct as Bargatz turns his yellow eyes upon Rathyen. "This is my home plane, morsel!" he says, grinning like a madman.

Alfred's fist crunches into his face, a tooth propelled from his mouth and his nose broken. Still, it does not seem to stop Kahabros in the slightest, since he feels none of the pain.

One of the younger students hands Ilyana a scroll, and she begins a casting. Bargatz' eyes go wide and he lunges at her, but the curved blade of Alfred catches him at the knee, the blunt inside edge of the blade tripping him up.

The Greater Dispelling is unleashed upon Bargatz, forcing Kahabros out. The Tyrran slumps into unconsciousness.

Many tense moments pass as they wait for the demon to try and take one of them again.
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 19:49 05 Jun 2003
Tense seconds pass and, suddenly, a thought occurs to Oisin, "Shit!"

Turning, he begins to quickly make his way back towards the temple and, hopefully, to find the Waukeenar that he had handed Caliena to. Caliena herself should be safe, however, the other Waukeenar was most likely not present to hear Oisin's advice by the time he said it. If that is the case, then Oisin would not put it past Kahabros to simply take over the other Waukeenar and slay Caliena out of spite...
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 19:55 05 Jun 2003
Oisin makes his way inside to find Caliena safe and sound, and the acolyte he handed her to fine as well. It appears that Kahabros has indeed fled.

---

Kahabros smiles and laughs to himself as he departs. On Tyrran slain, the child hurt, and another Tyrran badly wounded. Not bad for a few minutes worth of work. Oh, how he loves his job....

---

The Elders and the Tyrrans scour the area, but find no trace of the devil. Soon, they depart to their respective temples. Most of them to contemplate the events that have transpired.
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 20:11 05 Jun 2003
Oisin breathes a sigh of relief. Her minor wound has already been tended to and it looks as if she is sleeping soundly in one of the beds normally reserved for the healing of church patrons, should they require it. More than likely, one of the healers either cast a spell to ease her to slumber or gave her a draught. Oisin simply sits and looks at his student for a few moments before he leans over and pulls the covers up, tucking them carefully under her chin. "I'm sorry, Caliena," he whispers to her slumbering form, "I never wanted anything like this to ever happen to you...and I honestly don't know how to protect you from this devil."

"Sleep well, little sis," he says and leans forward to place a soft kiss on her forehead.

He moves to the room's door and opens it, stepping back out into the corridor where Alfred waits for him, silent and diligent as ever. Looking up at the construct, Oisin says, "I think she'll be fine. And, thanks again for helping out there. I know you wanted to kill Kahabros. Trust me...I want his blood just as badly. But, it will have to wait." He sighs, "We have a city to warn..."

His heart and mind heavy with the day's events, Oisin makes his weary way towards Raythen's office. Honestly, he'd like nothing more than to just lay down for a few moments of quiet and peace, a few moments to pray and rest, but he will not allow himself those luxuries. There is too much to do and too little time to get it done.
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 21:00 05 Jun 2003
He finds Rathyen in the main sanctuary, he and the other Elders talking about what has just happened. It is quickly agreed upon that the temple grounds shall be now subjected to a permanent Magic Circle against Evil, skillfully widened and enlarged so as to encompass the whole of the structure. They'd not wanted to do such things, hoping that a church of commerce would not come under such direct attack.

The Elders then acknowledge Oisin, Ilyana bidding him to speak.
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 21:14 05 Jun 2003
He nods and stands before the assembled Elders. As is his way, Oisin begins to speak without preamble. He has known them for a long time, has come to respect them all, whether he agrees with their personal philosophy on areas or not. And, now, he trusts them to make the right decision concerning this.

"In the next twelve days, Gromstead will be destroyed. There is a coming darkness which will consume part, if not all, of the city. Now, I'm not sure if any of you had already divined this or not, but I know there are churches who are unaware....just as there are some which are. The church of Oghma knows, and I'm positive that Savras does, as well. Of the others, I don't know."

"I'm positive that both the creature we encountered out there, one half-blood fiend, half-Mauerzhi named Kahabros and the Fire Knives have something to do with this." He pauses and continues, "I went to the church of Oghma for information about Kahabros and, while there, a Red Wizard in Kahabros' employ attacked the library. Also, a Jerran was sent in to steal the book I had been studying from, which told of Kahabros' kind. Now, I know that the Jerran work for the Fire Knives. I also know that the Fire Knives keep far more slaves than they sell. Now, why would they lose profit like that unless it was to gain something else more attractive than mere money? Or, it could be that they are not in control of themselves...at least, not the leaders."

"Whatever it is that they do, it is going to result in Gromstead being destroyed."
The Legend Grows - by Haruchai on 21:42 05 Jun 2003
A murmur runs through the assembled Elders, and they all converge together to speak. After a few short minutes they turn towards Oisin and Elder Iyana steps forward to speak. "It has been agreed that, despite what differences of philosophy any of us have with you personally, that the destruction of the city is something that cannot be ignored. No city means no commerce, despite what any of us think. We will help you in whatever way possible." Her gaze settles on him somberly. "All of us."

---

Anwyn is told of the fighting, and she grabs her sling and dagger as she heads outside and runs down the steps towards the temple of Waukeen... She has to make sure that Oisin is alright! She just has to!

---

Oisin and the others turn as the door to the temple swings open. Oisin immediately recognizes Anwyn, her dagger pulled, as she makes her way down towards them.
The Legend Grows - by Arislyn on 21:53 05 Jun 2003
Oisin nods somberly, "Good. Now, I have at my disposal...."

It is at this point that the doors open and Annwyn appears, dagger drawn and a look that says anyone who gets in her way may end up tasting the the sharp edge of it. Her face immediately transforms to one of relief, however, as her eyes find Oisin's familiar form standing to the far side of a group of Waukeenar. Sheathing her dagger, Ann makes her way swiftly towards him.

"Ann?!" Oisin turns in surprise. "What are you doing here? Is everything okay?" He moves to her, catching her shoulders in a firm, protective grasp. His brow furrows with worry as he looks her up and down, making sure she is not injured. "Was there another attack at the library?"
