Speculative fiction type shows are going to be pretty scarce after this TV season:

Buffy probably ending
Angel probably ending
Firefly gone
Farscape gone

Looks like UPN's commitment to SF programming is weak and SciFi Channel is moving away from scifi.

Outside of Star Trek Enterprise and Twilight Zone (if TZ gets renewed) there will be nothing left but The Void.   :O

I guess Andromeda is still around but it airs during the day on weekends here so my watching it is iffy.

My response has been to start stockpiling old TV series both Scifi and others on DVD's.  I'm going to be watching TOS and Secret Agent and The Prisoner instead of most broadcast shows.  (If my lcal PBS station is not going to show Red Dwarf anymore I'd rather get it myself on DVD.)

1. Are there any specfic shows left that I should start watching?

2. What are you going to do next Fall when there is nothing on? Or will it matter to you?

It's not really sci-fi, but something you should consider watching is Charmed. I've found that I've grown quite fond of the show.

Smallville is still on ?

*Smallville* isn't too bad.  I hadn't heard that Buffy was ending.  I for the first time in the last couple of weeks caught an episode of Angel and really likd it.  I like the Angelus character.  He's really vicious.

Mostly I don't watch enough TV to matter.  My favorte show these days is The Shield

I noticed that nobody mentioned Enterprise. Are we no longer counting that as SciFi?  Or are we just hoping it will go away.

If you like science fiction, without the fantasy, may I recomend CSI (original, not Miami). It has a bigger special effect's budget than Enterprise, better dialog and acting too. In addition, they have science advisors (something the people at Paramount thought they no longer needed for a science ficiton show).  Yes, it is set in the modern world, and there are no aliens, but it is a good solid sci-fi show in the Asimov mold, that most people think of as a crime drama (which it is as well).

Hi Moonhunter,

Oh I mentioned Enterprise.  Hmm. I might split off a conversation about that.

I like CSI (not Miami) I'm not sure I am ready to call it scifi.

NOTE:

I split off the Enterprise conversation.
