Super Milk-Chan Show - by Arislyn on 09:20 16 Nov 2004
Well, I've done the impossible. I didn't think I would ever find a show more perplexing than Excel Saga. However, Super Milk-Chan is, indeed, more bizarre.
I watched an episode last night and though it hurt my brain, I figured out what it was all about after piecing together what seemed to be a lot of terribly random scenes. It's one of those shows that you start watching and the first thing out of your mouth is, "What the...?" (Especially when it cuts to live action scenes that have nothing at all to do with anything. They're just sort of there....for entertainment purposes, I guess.) However, it all seems to sort itself out the longer you watch. So, by the end of an episode, the plot is fairly clear but, by god, did it take a strange path to get from A to B. And it is all punctuated by gleeful randomness.
Basically, the show is about Milk-Chan, a 5-year old super hero with no powers who is supposed to save the world, but usually doesn't because she's too selfish and lazy to do anything about it. The stupid president keeps calling her to help, even though she never does. And, she's potty-mouthed and abusive to her companions.
This isn't a show I would recommend for regular viewing, but once in awhile it could be pretty fun.
