Errand of Mercy is episode 27 from Star Trek the original series. Vol. 14 DVD.
This is the first time we see The Klingons so it is facinating for that. And this is where we also encounter the Organians who put an end to the Federation and the Klingons doing all out war and establishes the neutral zone (like a DMZ). This is an essential part of the Star trek mythos/timeline which is what makes this otherwise forgetable episode special.
One other thing. I always had a hard time accepting the peace and freindship between the Klingons and the Federation that was portrayed in the Next Generation onwards. However, this episode has the Organians telling Kirk that someday the Federation and Klingons would be fast friends. Interesting.
