By the way I've used my signature for the past six years.  Chosen because I read a philosophical article called "Through the Looking Glass" but i preferred Wonderland.  The Matrix stole it off me!!!!....but of course I stole it off Lewis Carol.  Just didn't want people to think I needed Hollywood writers/directos telling me what to write!!  They stole it off me  - Right!!

sure, NC ...  ???

i didn't think about the matrix or anything .. just the Lewis Carol connection.

my current is from the B-52s 'Planet Claire' i change my sig often .. or fairly often when something catches my ear. one thing i don't like is that when the sig changes or the avatar they change retroactively. i'd like to go back and look at my old sigs and avatars .. i don't know why

Signatures, as in, Username???  and the origins of them?

If so, my full SCA name is Rychaerde Hroedebert.  In persona, I'm a 15th Century Saxon.  A healer and an archer (healing, as in massage therapy, and archery because, though I have a sword and know how to use it, I prefer to keep the battles distant).

About the name:  Rychaerde is an old-Germanic spelling if my given name, Richard.  Hroedebert, is one of the earliest renderings/deriviations of Hopkins, which was my last name when I was born...

Interestingly enough, Hroedebert, translates into Old English, as "Bright-Beard."  Bright, as-in, fire, or red.  It translates in to modern High-German as Rot Bard...which directly translates to English as Red Beard.   Suffice it to say, I am true to my heritage in that respect.

'din' - loud clamorous noise.

lol, nothing so interesting for me.... My first name is Hollie, which is fairly rare in my neck of the woods unless your five or younger, and people NEVER spell it the right way (always Holly), so I have to use Hols for anything like email addresses etc, so that messages actually get to me, and its just become a habit now.  As for the comment at the bottom, I'm usually just being a smartarse.

Haruchai: In the Thomas Covenant books by Stephen R. Donaldson, a race of not quite human people. So devoted to their duty that they never sleep, strive for martial perfection, protectors of the Lords of the Land. I could give you a rather long dialogue about them, but I really liked the name. Also known as the Bloodguard.

*chuckles* My signature is simply a quote from an episode of "Slayers" that I really liked. It was the first sensible thing I've heard an adventurer ever say, and it stuck with me.

As to my nick, well, that's actually just a feminization of the name Arislan, from "The Heroic Adventures of Arislan".....yet another anime. It's the name that I gave to a certain, elven enchantress that I created for AD&D and I decided to keep it as my nick on various boards and whatnot.

Hunter was a call sign from a work group. MoonHunter comes into play from long ago, and far away, an alt group and related social group. I have had it for so long that I will respond to it like most people will their born names.

"Sage, Gamer, Mystic, and Wit" came from a thread when someone asked what the #### I was. It sort of stuck.

As for my Sig.  It comes a routine by Jerry Sienfield about the poem by Robert Shaw.  If you have taken the road less traveled, you soon understand why people don't take it.  It is hard, cold, and it does not lead to places you might of wanted to visit.

The 1000+ RPG tips is my "nod" to my home on the net, www.openroleplaying.org and a bit of Hubris showing off my game guru status.

I sometimes feel more attached to this identity than I do my "rl" one.

I use Brad because these forums are shared by many sites: see the list of links at the bottom, a couple of which are mine with more planned.

So sombody coming from my Ring Codex directory wouldn't know who PlanetDoom was.  So it just seemed easier to be boring but consistant.

Also I'm a lazy slug so I just standardized "Brad" as my nic on all my forums and the SEO forums I frequent to make it easier to remember for login.  Easy is good.
