Do you mean the rankings below each person's name, denoted by the little stars? That's just a nifty way of showing how active a person is in the forum.
The more you post, the higher your ranking.
Edit: I forgot to mention, the ranking above your name (Militiaman, seargant, etc.) is also linked to the number of posts you have made.

The first couple of levels are fairly low numbers, then it goes up to about 100 posts per level - something like that - it has been a couple of years since we made that. They are fairly high because the RPG players post a lot - so they still still have levels to look forward too.

Is Scion the highest or does it go higher?

Hi draconknight welcome to the forums.
No it goes higher than Scion, although not too much higher since we were running out of fancy sounding titles.

Recruit=newbie
militiaman=5 or 10
soldier=20
sergeant=50
this is all i know because im learning as i go up in rank.
