I've watched two movies that we rented this week.  One was Forgotten, in which a woman seems to be the only person to remember that she had a son.  This was OK but I was disappointed in the ending.  It only vaguely explained what was going on throughout the movie.

The second movie was Resident Evil: Apocolypse.  This was quite good.  I thought it was at least as good as the first one.  I tend to like Mila Jovanivich a lot, ever since I first saw her in The fifth Element.

Yeah, I had the same reaction to Forgotten that you did. It had the potential of being good, but so much was left unexplained that it left you feeling disappointed.

You know, I didn't like Resident Evil: Apocalypse at all. Didn't even finish it. I think it was because there was just too much of the characters posing and looking cool to suit me. That, and the story felt disjointed. Scenes cut too sharply, started and stopped too abruptly...I didn't like it.

Mila Jovanivich = Gooood.  :D

I saw her in the first Resident Evil movie - lots of posing in that too, but it was still a reasonable popcorn munching, action movie.  No deep meanings or skilled acting but watchable.

Just saw her recently in The Fifth Element and thought she did a great job (plus really good movie.)

I appreciate the review of Resident Evil: Apocalypse (this is the second movie?) I'll put it down on my to rent list.

I remember the promos for Forgotten, but it did not look all that interesting to me.  Glad that reaction is confirmed.

Remember: Mila Jovanivich = Gooood.

There was a lot of "posing" in Resident Evil: Apocolypse.  I thought, especially, the dark haired woman was a little too much.  But overall I liked it.  And, as Brad pointed out, "Milla = good."  It was certainly not a movie that would make you question your philosphy of life, but it had some good action.

In a related issue, I was thinking while watching Apocolypse that Milla knows how to do the action hero thing SOOO much better than Jennifer Garner.  I can believe that Milla would kick my ass.  I find it much harder to believe that Jennifer Garner could.

On that Milla vs Jennifer thing.  I think you are right. I have only seen clips of Jennifer Garner in action sequences, but somehow that strikes me as right that Milla is more convincing.

You see that a lot with many different male and female actors in action parts - some just seem more credible in action.  It's like they got the moves.
