Alright! I went and saw this movie today and I must say that I liked it very much.

Anthony Hopkins was great as Hannibal, as always, and Ed Norton made a great agent. I wish they'd have expounded a bit more upon the "secondary" character of Ralph Fiennes though. Mr. Fiennes did a great portrayal, and maybe it was just me but I could have used a bit more blood. Now, I realize that the Hannibal movies have none thrived on sheer bloodshed, and relied more upon the psychological aspects of the characters. This movie was no exception... still, Fienne's character was portrayed as a bit more brutal than past characters and little of it was translated to the screen. In my opinion. Bloody shots were done in flashes mostly, which I'm sure heightens the shock for some people.

The ending was pretty good, but a tad predictable. And I actually found myself rooting for the baddie. This was one movie where I wish it would have been made with a bit of fantasy element, as the premise was set for it. A true "transformation" would have been awesome (see the movie and find out). In fact, this would make a good fantasy game adventure.... Hmmmm......

Scored on a scale of 1-10 I give Red Dragon a:

solid 8.5

Definitely worth the matinee price I paid, and I'd have paid more if going with friends. (Can't afford to spend the extra money if going by myself).  :D

So was I. Thanks for the review. I loved both Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal... So I can't wait to see Red Dragon.
