I decided to head to my parents collection and listened to Meat Loaf. I always liked his voice and the music and lyrics. John Steinbeck (I believe thats his name) is a great writter. I love the art work off of the 2nd Bat out of #### it was down by Micheal Whelen. Awsome work. Anyway its anyone a fan?

The only meat loaf album i cared for was the original Bat Out of #### , and it is a semi guilty pleasure.
I do think he has a big, big voice, and i saw a behind the music or some such biography about him and he seemed to be a pretty decent guy.

I really like Meat Loaf BooH I and BooH II. Excellent records. I like that operatic quality he lends to complex lyrics.
That is one problem I always had with a lot of heavy metal and rap music is they are shouting the lyrics and not singing.

Speaking of operatic: I recommend two albums by the band Rush: 2112 and A Farewell to Kings. Both are excellent. At time the lyrics on A Farewell to Kings are haunting.

I've got Rush's "Counterparts" album. That's a good one to add to the collection if you don't have it already.

I've always been a fan of Rush .. but i'm one of those that think there last really great album was Grace under Pressure.
I think an interesting side note to Rush as a band is until I think Hold Your Fire everything you hear from the studio they could play live. It is something seeing a person play bass, keyboards, and a foot organ and sing at the same time .

and Meat Loaf made a fine 'eddie' in the Rocky Horror Picture show
