Jediism as an actual religion? I know that the people of this page say that it has nothing to do with Lucas' films, but how can it not when the whole thing is based on a fictional philosophy?
Wait...is there such a thing as "fictional philosophy"? I guess if you have a philosophy, it's real regardless of its origins.

I'm a new member but a very big fan of Star Wars.In my life-time I've "collected" a lot of information on the subject and, even if some of it may be useless, I do know that the Jedi religion u r talking about, Arislyn, ism based on an ancient Oriental branch of Buddism or something like that. It is derived from an ancient belief, bur wether it is a religion in it's self I do not know.
U just have to ask yourself:"Do I believe in the Farce?"

It looks to me like the creators of this webpage are drawing parallels between the ancient Oriental religions and that of the Jedi. Here's a quote:

Maybe all this site really is doing is trying to explain Taoism/Buddhism/Hindi by using the philosophy of the Jedi. Perhaps that makes it easier for some people to understand and accept?

Ki, or the Force: the action from a particular state of mind and body that can have physical/psychological/physiological effect. This ki can be expressed, and hence, perceived through physical apprearance, behavior, and body language. Perhaps an explanation as to how one can wield the force if necessary to have a powerful effect on the weak-minded. |

Oh! *grins* And, I just wanted to reiterate (even though I've said it before), anything I say here is just my opinion/view of things. Neither right nor wrong....just my skewed view o' the world. Since we're kinda, sorta delving into religion-y type things here, I don't want anyone taking me too seriously.
*laughs* Bah! As if anyone ever takes me seriously, anyways....
