So far, I'm loving the newest Neverwinter Nights expansion, Hordes of the Underdark. In this adventure, your characters will achieve Epic Level....which you will certainly need to defeat an army of drow. *grins* (Considering the name of the game, I don't think I'm giving anything away, here.)

As far as gameplay is concerned, HotU is just like NWN or SoU. However, Epic Level feats have been added as well as a few new Prestige Classes, including Pale Master (for all of you Necromancer fans) and Red Dragon Disciple. So far, I haven't tried any of the new classes, prefering to simply import my halfling monk from the previous NWN game and go from there. I do think I want to give the Pale Master a spin, though. Looks pretty nasty.

Some of the rumblings I have heard on other forums that were not specifically for NWN seemed to indicate that some folks were not satisfied with the level of roleplay in the previous NWN games. Well, I have some good news. While the RP in the first couple of chapters of the game are on par with previous incarnations, the third chapter is getting pretty darned RP intensive. In fact, there is an entire section of the game where you kill nothing and gain all of your XP through investigation.

Well, I take that back. You are perfectly capable of killing everything in the "RP section" of the game, but if you do, you'll end up shooting yourself in the foot. That, and you'll have some very unhappy baatezu who will most likely want to crush your teensy skull for disrupting their business.

HotU also has a high chuckle factor. Or, at least, it does to me. For instance, a mimic just stole my character's armor and she is now running around in Baator stark nekkid. And, of course, your henchmen do not fail to notice the change.....*Heh*

So far, I've encountered no bugs in the game. Wheee! (A nice change from Temple of Elemental Evil, which was fun but oh-so-buggy.)

I just beat HotU. Excellent game! I plan on going back through as an evil bastard and seeing how that changes things. You know, have a betrayal here, a backstabbing there....There are plenty of opportunties for you to screw over the good guys and I plan on trying it out. Tee hee!

By the way, I learned that it is a good thing that I am a compulsive pack-rat, even in cyberland. All the uber-powerful goodies sell for many, many platinum....

...and it turns out that you can purchase a happy ending.

*whistles innocently and walks away, leaving that little spoiler as vague as possible*
