Well, it looks like fate will be forcing me into a short, 'net hiatus. My PC monitor died last night. So, while I technically still have internet at home, I can't see it.
So, for the time being, the only time I'll get to check the board is while I'm at work.

Sorry to hear about your monitor. What kind of replacement do you want?
I walked into Best Buy a couple of months ago and was shocked to find half their monitor selection was now LCD displays. That seems to be the way people are going.

I had one monitor blown out by a lightning strike. Had unplugged the comp, but forgot the monitor (now on same surge protector, so I can unplug them all at once).
I knew it would be a few days before I could get a new one, but there's a Goodwill store not far from here, and I'd noticed they have used monitors for $15 - $20, so I picked up a 17" Trinitron monitor for $20 -- and never bothered getting a new one. This one's great, and I can bop down there and get another one if it blows. It's been doing the job for two years.
We live in a throw-away society. We're psyched into this idea of "It's got to be NEWER and BETTER!"
Newer ain't necessarily better. Old is also a lot faster and cheaper. (Well, I'm old, and not faster by a long shot, but Claudia says I'm plenty cheap! -- OWWW!)

Hehe! That's one thing you don't have to worry about with me and Runt. We're both pack rats....we keep everything. In fact, we've kept all the old stuff from where we upgraded my PC so that I can play games (which keep requiring better and faster processors and video cards all the time) and Runt built a Linux machine out of.....it.....
*smacks self on forehead for being an idiot*
The Linux machine! It has a monitor that almost never gets used anymore. We were (inconsistently) running a MUD off of that machine, but that is about it. Duh. I can just switch the two out.

Ha ha...
Reminds me of a few weeks ago when we had a bloke in to check our appliances. He had Dining Room on his list of rooms to check, so I showed him in to the "Dining Room" and watched his confused face as he looked around. "Yes it is the dining room" I said "but I'd forgive you if youu thought it was a computer graveyard". The place is littered with various circuit boards and monitors, none of which seem to fit together, but must be kept for the future (or so says the boyf)!!

Heh,
I have various old computers and monitors sitting around. Plus old printers. I keep saying I will network them together but never quite get around to it.
Oh Ari and Runt have a Linux box, eh? I'm jealous, I always wanted to play with Linux but I chickened out and went with a Mac instead.

*laughs* I know how that goes, NC! We're supposed to have a guest bedroom, but heck if it looks like one. The only thing that hints at bedroom-iness is the bed....which is covered in computer parts. And, you have to wade through yet more computer parts to get to that.
*shudders and grins* A Mac? I tried working with a Mac a couple of times. Have you ever seen "Zoolander?" Do you remember the scene where Derek and Hansel are trying to get the files out of the computer? *cue in 2001 music* That's how I felt. *chuckles* I know it's just because I learned on a PC and that's what I've always used. I'm used to being able to right-click on everything and get a menu. It's very, very frustrating to not be able to do that.
We haven't done much with the Linux box, to be honest. Like I said, Runt sometimes runs the MUD off of it, but that is it. He built it more out of whim than anything else. Personally, I've never messed with it. I'm not sure how good/bad Linux really is.
