Okay, I'm just tossing this out as a suggestion. What would everyone think about starting a free-gorm game? Now, what this would mean is that there would be no "GM", per se. Basically, the plot and story are built by the players and the interaction of everyone's characters.
I'll build a backdrop for the game and then interject some things in for everyone to react to...i.e. news events ("Hey, did you hear the Jewel of Arkhon was stolen last night?"), weather/acts of god ("Holy crap! It's a tornado!") and such....but, basically, you all get to write the tale.
What do you think? Low, low pressure. No need to post everyday. However, if you don't post often, you do get left behind as there is no "regulating factor" to the game.
Also, quick note: All fights/deaths/etc. between characters would be completely consensual. No saying, "I kill Spartacus!" and it happens. If Spartacus' player agrees to be killed, then fine.

Cool beans! Maybe a few others will join in and we can decide on what kind of setting everyone would like. Sci-fi? Steampunk? Fantasy? Horror?....

I'll give it a couple of days to see if anyone else has any preferences before I start things up.
Remember, though, that the players are going to have the major role of creating the plot for themselves! So, give some thought to what motivates your character and what he/she may be doing.

That works for me, NC! In fact, I was leaning towards a science fictionish sorta thing. We've been doing a lot of fantasy and it would be a nice change of pace to get all technological.
Tell you guys what...I'm going to go ahead and start building a realm. However, I'm not going to start the game until we switch boards. The last update from Brad was that there was one bug left to take care of on the new boards and then a planned period of about 24-48 hours of tire kicking from the mods. If all goes well, then everything will get moved over and what is here will become read only.
I think it's probably best to wait to start a new game until we are in our new home.
So, we're going post-apocalypitic (I think I completely misspelled that...). Think about your characters and I'll start building.

Do we know what rules-set we're using? Will it be DnD based or something else? Or are we just kinda wingin' it?
Because if we're wingin' it then I wanna play a mutant cyborg Tyrannosaurus. *grins*

Heh! I figured that we could just sort of wing it. But, you make a good point, Haru. We don't want characters to be super outlandish or powerful. Something reasonable is definitely called for. After all, what's the fun in playing a character who always succeeds at everything they do?
I'm going to look at some free systems and their character creation. Maybe I can find something that everyone can download and use as a basis for their character creation. (I was thinking of something universal...sort of like GURPs.)
Hmmm...why don't we try Active Exploits? It's diceless, universal and, best of all, free. (You'll need Adobe Reader to read the downloadable PDF).
