I can't promise we will do it, but if there is something you would like to see implemented here at Unified forums this is a good place to propose it. So let us know what you would like to see.

A place to store images, mainly for the Story Hours and stuff. I ran into that problem with my avatar, which din is very politely hosting for me (Thank you!).
I think it would be very cool to have a place we can keep images for the stories, because the visuals just add so much to them. None of the artists mind me linking directly to them, but cannot assure me they will keep the same pics up as time goes on.
Thanks for your consideration.

Haru,
I know you are looking for someplace to host those images and thought you might want to check out this search engine. It lets you look up various free web hosts and actually turns up a good number. (When I searched, it pulled up 100). The best part, though, is that people have written reviews of each of the hosts. So, you can get an idea whether the site is one that you want to mess with.

Now, I know that you want to actually be able to have pictures come up in the forums without having to click out to another site. However, if you can't find something that you like, you are perfectly welcome to my Tripod account. It's just sitting there being empty at the moment. You could at least store them there and then put a link up for people to go to the website to see them.

Putting up links is just fine. In fact, that was what I was planning to do, just as I did with the pic of Palskane. Let me hunt around a bit more, Ari, and see if I can't find something so I don't feel like I'm mooching off of you.
However, whether I use your account or something different... thank you. :)

Ah! *chuckles* Well, then, you needn't have done all that hunting! You can do that with any web host. Most of them just don't like for you to link to an image directly i.e. for bulletin boards, top site lists, etc. so they show up without making you actually go to the site to see if.

Ari that is a good solution. I never really thought of it, but there are some major advantages to using links to your own website instead of pulling the image and trying to imbed it into an actual forum post:
1. Size of image (l x w). By just placing a link it does not throw things like side scrollong off.
2. Loading time on threads. Three high res picks can really slow down a page load on a thread. But if you link to the pic it opens in a new window but the thread does not slow down.
3. Control: best to do it on a site that you have control of. If you are in charge you can make sure the URLs work and the pictures stay online. That would be hard to do on some sort of file upload arrangment on a site you don't control.
4. Image Leeching: I think a lot of people do this because they do not know any better. A lot of webmasters will still try to pull the image off your server and a really cool pick that gets pulled by several different sites could end up being a drain. It happens far more often than one would think. By using one of the free hosts they will block the attempted leeching -- which is good.
I just used Geocities for a site and they make it pretty easy. I have used Tripod in the past and found them to be reliable.
