I was thinking about this last night, as to which SF TV shows, besides Star Trek, I have enjoyed the most.

In no special order:

X-Files
Dr. Who (especially the Pertwie and Baker Drs.)
Blake's 7
Red Dwarf
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea

Also rans that did not last long but that I liked:
Time Tunnel
UFO

What were/are your favorites?

I adore Red Dwarf. That is such a funny show! *gently hums "The Rimmer Song" to herself as she types* Rimmer is my hero. :)

When I was little, I used to watch Buck Rogers religiously. *chuckles* I don't remember exactly when it was aired, but I'm thinking I was about 10 or 11, then? It was out in late 70's/early '80's? I'm sure that if I saw it now, I'd probably find it pretty corny.

For the most part, I enjoyed X-Files. However, when they started getting out of the supernatural and more into the conspiracy factor, I started to lose interest.

Dr. Who was a hoot as well, but I haven't seen it in a long time.

The new Twilight Zone has a tendency to lean towards science fiction, and I find that I enjoy it.

I loved Farscape and hate that it went bust.

I'll add more as I think of them. :)

One of the TV stations here used to play the original Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon serials.  They originally appeared in theaters long before I was born but they were still fun to watch on TV.

Dr. Who Rule No. 1 - the cheaper the sets the better the show.  I still maintain that Dr. Who's downfall was when they started actually getting a decent budget. :)

Babylon 5
Dr. Who
The Outer Limits (if you consider that science fiction)

Still not sure about Firefly.

Oh! I'm glad you brought up B5. I had forgotten about that. It was a great show. But, I was a bit disappointed by the following series that they tried to launch in it's wake. I don't remember what it was called though. Wasn't it something like, "Babylon Five: the Crusade"?

For awhile I really liked Space: Above and Beyond, but it didn't last very long.  I probalby most enjoy shows like Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits because each episode stands alone.  I just never have time to watch series TV anymore.  I tend to like Buffy when I can catch it, which is sort of fantasy/horror I guess.  And I enjoy the occassionaly episode of Stargate.  I used to like the TV version of Highlander very much.

Yeah! I used to watch the TV series of Highlander as well. It wasn't too bad. The only thing that really irked me was that there were so many Immortals. I mean, weren't they supposed to be very rare? Once that show started they came out of the woodwork like termites...

Space: Above and Beyond wasn't too bad either.

What about Sliders? Did anyone else like that?

>> Sliders

Sliders has quite a following of fans, even a few years after it ended.  I only caught a few episodes, I cannot say it hooked me in.

I liked the original Twilight Zone and I am really enjoying the new one.  It is very neat seeing all these guest stars doing something different from their usual characters for a half hour. It helps showcase their acting range.  The scripts have been good too.

My favorite non Star Trek Scifi show, because my favorite is STos:  The Man from Atlantis.  Yes, one of those little known shows from the early 80s late 70s.  It was not a great show, but it was a show I loved.

Other favorites: Space 1999, Invaders, Dr. Who. STng, DS9, Buffy, the first few seasons of X-files, and Fantastic Journey.

Currently, my favorite SciFi show is Firefly.  Do I get to say I told you so to all of you who originally dissed the show and are now watching it or do I have to wait for later in the season?

Yeah, you do.  But I'm still half waiting for it to implode.  You get 10 gloat points and some of us lose our saving throws verses gloating.   :)

I watched Space: 1999 - it was okay but I liked UFO better. Did you know they recycled many of the moonbase models from UFO to use in Space: 1999?
