Fantasy Grounds looks like a pretty neat online interface for PnP games. The screenshots shown have a nice look to them and the list of features makes it sound like it could really work well.

Is this like a game server? In other words does it require web space?

One thing I note with the reqirements is Direct X.  Direct X is one of the biggest ways for sites to plant spyware and adware on your Windows computer.

No, it doesn't look like you have to have webspace to use it. You either connect directly to the host's PC or through the remotely hosted FG servers.

Connect to the hosting player's computer either directly using an IP-address or via the Fantasy Grounds server using a gamemaster's unique host alias. Very handy if your IP-address is dynamically assigned by your ISP and you want to schedule a game ahead of time.

You know, I didn't even think twice when I saw Direct X was required. It's required for so many games that I have that my only thought was, "Oh, yeah. I've got that." Of course, I've got firewalls, virus scan, and spy detectors out the wazoo, so I don't worry that much. That's a good point you brought up, Brad. People should definitely take that into consideration before making any purchases.
