Enterprise to End in May - by Brad on 07:29 05 Feb 2005
Star Trek Enterprise will end in May. There is no Star Trek based replacement show scheduled.
It's a shame really - ENT was just starting to hit it's stride.

I just have to say, it was a good science fiction show. It was not really Star Trek. It tossed out almost all the "cannon" that we have lovingly learned over the decades. But it was an okay show.
So what about this campaign to save the show? I mean it didn't work for Farscape. It didn't work for Above and Beyond. It took twenty years of campaigning to save Star Trek. That generated a movie. If wasn't for the success of Star Trek II, there would of been no Star Trek Next Gen. I mean, geeze. Do these people actually think this is going to work?

I do not think the Save ENT campaign will work. But it is something for Star Trek fans, old and new, to rally around in common cause. I think that has value.
I think ignoring the ST cannon is what helped kill the series (that and showing it on UPN just as UPN was switching formats). BTW, finding where Enterprise strayed from the established Star Trek cannon would be a great theme for a website. Not a site bashing Enterprise, but one doing a somewhat scholarly comparison. I don't have the time to do it but I make note of it in case it inspires a reader.
