Dream machine: Antwerp - by Big Al on 15:41 04 Dec 2002
I'm in search of the title of a sci-fi movie about a dream/time machine. I know only a little about its plot.
The story is about a type of dream enhancement machine which, when used, recreates the world around the new reality, retroactively, based on the users dream. A password, which is "Antwerp," is used to trigger the thought process of the user. The device, similar to a time machine, is gradually enhanced and becomes more powerful with each incarnation.
In one scene, set in Seattle, the user dreamt of less rain. When he woke up, the news story on TV was about the multi-year drought still in progress.
Do you know the title (or anything else)?

Hum, I don't recognize that movie. Sorry. You might check the SciFi channel site and see if they have a place you can send a question.

i sort of recall seeing commercials for something matching that general description not too long ago. i was thinking it was an episode of TZ or OL or a made for TV movie .. it could have been a theatrical release also .. What I got from the commercials was a man waking up to a stranger and stranger world based on what he was dreaming ..

Lathe of Heaven was recently remade and rebroadcasted about 2-3 months ago. It was better than the original, though only slightly. There were lots of ads for it on my local TV on any number of channels, and I assume that the same occured for the rest of you.
For those of you that don't know... Antwerp was the hypnotic trigger word on how the Evil Doctor made George sleep/ dream/ change the world. It is a key element to the story.
