Did the USA land on Moon in 1969 - by NoonChild on 09:14 27 Sep 2004
As far as Im concerned there are definately lots of faked photographs of the first astronaughts on the Moon. However whether this means there was never a landing, or whether it means it was just too dangerous (radiation/heat/cold) to stay there for long enough to get the pretty pictures that everyone wanted, I could't say. Certainly the film footage off them leaving the moon's surface seems fake to my 21st century eyes, but I dont know how flight in space really looks, all I have to go on are movies - and they are fake!!
Some of the conspiracy theory can be dismissed as incorrect interpretation of the evidence (ie they say that in tests on Earth Armstrong could not controll the lander properly, but does it perfect in the moon footage - well of course he does. The Earth has wind and thermals etc, the moon has no atmosphere). However I think a lot is being lied about, and would anyone mind if they just told the truth now?

I think they did land on the moon. As for the theory of the flag "fluttering" in the wind I think is untrue. There is no gravity etc. therefore the flag would have some folds and stuff in it when it was put up.

Yeah the fluttery flag evidence is poor at best. The flag was suspended from a horizontal pole so any knocks to the flag would have made it swing like a pendulum, which it does. So for me thats not evidence that they are not on the moon.
Why I think the pictures are faked in some cases is because of the cross hairs. The cameras used had cross hairs engraved in to part of the lense so that scale etc could be measured, so everything outside the camera should appear behind the cross hairs. However there are photos (more than one) where objects overlapp the crosshairs as if they have been stuck over the photo after it was taken (original photoshopping). Not evidence for them not being on the moon, but evidence that some things were faked - I'd just like to know why.

I've seen the crosshair evidence explained as bleed on the film. There is a distance between the lens and the film so that something very bright would eclipse the crosshairs. You may have seen something similar when there are pictures of light sources and other bright objects on film. The light sometimes looks bigger, blobby or you cannot discern the edge of a lit lightbulb.
from an non-technical point of view, if i were to doctor photographs that I knew were going to be looked at by thousands of scientists all over the world I believe I'd doctor crosshairs back in.

I got most of the hoax arguments and rebuttals here.
To answer your question I think if NASA came forward and said they faked parts of it I don't know if I'd mind or not, but I think many people would not believe them
