See I would love to sit down and write a fantasy story that been evolving in my head since elementary school... It all started with an evil witch who cast aways a young wolf princess named Myth and her brother to a far off world called earth.... Know it has been majorly transformed into a fantasy trilogy which mixes fantasy, horror, reality and sci-fi all in one... Its about the begining of time and how it all began through my on creative mind using actually stories from mythology. The main charactor is Myth... But she becomes a unicorn princess and her brother becomes the warior the seas.... She has a lover who is the Dragon Prince who was born of the White Dragon.... And she has friends named Jez and Demetree who are the powers of air and earth... It gets heavily involved in magick and earth and the gods and goddess... I just wanted to share the story line with you... I hope you don't mind if I post the intro to the story and Chapter one which I wrote a long time ago... I might add it to my web page so stay tuned for a link to the site. I will add info on the other chapters I am about to write... Hopefully I still have it. The other chapters might take awhile since I have not had time but I thought I would share.

It's always interesting to read how others have created fantasy worlds in their heads. I remember when I was growing up and doing that, creating elaborate fantasy landscapes and story lines, that I thought I was the only one who was doing so. All my friends just seemed interested in sports or cars or girls. Now I was interested in those things, too, but I also just loved making up stuff in my head and I spent many long hours doing so. I'm glad to hear that others have done the same.

Yeah I do that all the time... I sit there listening to music and dream of what would be like if I was a fairy tale creature or something like that... And also what would people think of my movie if I created one... I pretty wierd like that but thats who I am... And I am also glad to see others like me.

And, not to worry...you are definitely not alone in this. Like Kainja, I always like seeing what other people have built in their minds. Keep it up!

Nice job VP. No you are not alone in this. Like Kainja I used to think about stories and create worlds in my mind all the time. Later I GM'ed RPGs because I liked the world building and storytelling aspects of it.
Scrape any GM and you have a wouldbe writer lurking just below the surface. *looks significantly at Arislyn*
Keep at it.

I think that there are a lot of good writers here. I also think that there are a lot of people who can write well, but simply don't have the time to do so.
I love writing, and making up new stuff. That's why I like the online format for RPG's. I can write, create, and interact with people all at one time.

Think of it as a huge writer's group. The techniques they have for "speed writing" and finishing projects are something that every writer should read. The techniques I have found there are quite stimulating and have improved my writing a whole notch. I am now rewriting a number of things, I used to think of as "done".
As an aside, I am taking a number of these tips and applying them to RPGing. They should grace the tip site in the next 2 months or so (there is just that much backlog... I submit 45 every week or so... the post about 5... there is approximately 190 in the cue right now. )

I don't chat that much anymore but over the past 5 or 6 years I did a lot of chatting at a place called The Gathering. Now if I chat it's at Shards. But the fun thing for me was not talking about everyday sorts of things, but the fact that I found a number of kindred spirits and we did online RPG pretty much every night. It was very open ended but the crew that was involved were really creative and fun. We had a lot of very cool story lines going, and I really liked the opportunity, really, to kind of collaborate on writing. I've used some of the characters I've created for the chat in stories and I find that I know them very well after playing them for long periods of time.
