Since I'm off on Spring Break--(Yeah, faculty members get spring break too. We just stay home instead of hitting the beach)--I've watched a few movies. Among the horror films I rented are:
Nine Lives. Known for starring Paris Hilton, and that's probably all it'll ever be known for. The first twenty minutes were absolutely boring, with nothing but a bunch of young attractive folks talking as they are snowed in at an old Scottish estate. It pickes up a little bit after the killings start, but it certainly wasn't a fright fest.
Shaun of the Dead: I've heard lots of folks recommend this and I have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's meant to be funny, not scary, and it achieves it's goal pretty well. I have to say I liked the recent "Dawn of the Dead" better, but Shaun was worth a look see.

I think Paris Hilton's camera phone pictures are better than her movies.

LOL, camera phone pics, ha!
Shaun of the Dead is a fun watch, and if you are a brit you will recognise lots of good comedy actors from "Spaced" (Nick Frost/Simon Pegg/ The girl who's name I can't remember)and "The Office" (ahhrrggg another girl's name I cant remember).
My brother is a sound man and has worked with Mr Frost on a TV prog. Brother kept laughing in places where I hadn't noticed anything funny, but he says that there are in jokes in the script that joe public is not going to get. Apparently cos all those actors are really good friends in real life they have loads of catch phrases and stuff which they like to work in to their scripts.
For example Nick Frost (the slightly chubby one) loves the phrase "a slice of fried gold" to describe something very good, and thus it appears in Shaun of the dead. Look out for that...if you care...

Shaun of the Dead was a hoot! That's another one that I went to the theater to see. I loved every second of it.
Huh...that is neat, though, that there are inside jokes in the film. I wonder if there is a list of them, somewhere. It would be really interesting to see what we, Joe Public, missed.
