Anyone watching Crusade? I wanted to like it, because I liked Babylon 5, but it seemed REALLY low budget and I just couldn't get in to the first episode. Anyone know if it gets better?
For those who dont know the story line:
Earth has won a war against aliens. However before the decisive victory, Earth is infected with a virus which will adapt and kill millions of humans within 5 years. A space captain and crew (not on earth so not affected) are to roam the galaxy trying to find a cure and save mankind...blah blah.

I tried watching it, but like you, I couldn't get into it. I think my problem was that there were no characters that I liked....and that is what I loved about B5 even beyond it's great storyline. The characters were people that were interesting, different and enjoyable. I even loved hating the psy-corp!
I couldn't tell even tell you the name of a character in Crusade.
It's been a long time since I watched it. (It came out a few years ago here in the US.) Did they even have cameos of the old B5 crew?

Recognised a face from Bab 5 security team...but that's all. However I have only watched one. Main character is that guy who is in loads of stuff but I can never remember his name...
Me - "Oh there's that guy again..you know...that guy...Sheriff Buck in American Gothic"

Is this on Sci-Fi channel?
I have not seen it. But it does seem like it takes awhile for new scifi shows to find their feet.

I checked Sci-Fi and they're not running it. (Or, I just overlooked the listing.) It ran here back in....1999?...I think and may just now be getting to the U.K. (Or may be re-running there but not here.)
However, I did find something else awesome over at Sci-Fi which I will add to another thread...

We've only just got crusade (five years late?), but I keep flicking over to watch a drama about criminal pathologists instead. It just cant seem to hook me!!

Heh, I've still never seen it. Genre TV shows have almost disappeared from broadcast television.

I found this Crusades site that may answer any questions you have.
ISN News: Crusades
According to this site, it looks like what you are seeing, Noonchild, is a rerun.

I must not have had satellite TV the first time round. Luck for me our terrestrial channels showed things like Bab 5 and Farscape.
