Okay, I'm just curious....I've already requested Dec. 17th off so I can go see LotR: Return of the King on its opening day. Just exactly how many of us here are as a big a geek as me and are planning a holiday around a movie opening?

I have hit the first matinee showing on opening day for the first two and I intend to do the same this year. The crowd of hard core LOTR geeks waiting for the first showing is a pretty cheerful bunch and good to watch the movie with.

Here where I live has one of only 65 locations nationwide that is running a marathon.
Starting the 16th, at 3pm, our Cinemark theater is running the Fellowship, TT, and RotK, back to back. Yes.... back to back. RotK will start at 11pm.
Now, the Fellowship and TT will be shown in their extended versions, as only released on DVD so far.
Cost: $25
Not bad, truly, for all three movies. I'm trying to talk EL into going.
Starting two weeks before the release of RotK the theater is also showing Fellowship, then TT as a prelude to the finale.
I can't wait!!

*laughs* Yeah, we've got a theater out our way that is doing the same thing. Runt is all fired up for the marathon but, as much as I adore LotR, I'm not sure that I'm up for an all day, non-stop marathon. (Blasphemy, I know!)
