A lot of people are hurting in the countries hit by the terrible destruction of the recent Asian Tsunami.
For those reading this that want to help probably the best way is by donating money to a relief organization.

In addition Amazon is collecting money for the Red Cross - if you are already an Amazon customer it makes donating very fast and easy. Amazon UK is collecting for the British Red Cross. Also, Paypal has a link on their site with a list of Tsunami charities that you can donate too via your Paypal account.

Hhhhmmm, I really feel I should point out that it really isn't just Asia who has been hit by the Tsunami. Parts of Africa, and especially Somalia, have been hit really badly (by the wave, not just its social/economic effects) and everyone is ignoring Africa, because the areas hit do not attract tourists, and there isn't a good enough population count fro before the Tsunami to know how many people have died. The effects of the Tsunami are likely to be far more longlasting in Africa though - the Asian countries affected have a great tourist draw, and together with foreign aid this will not only help them recover more quickly, but they are likely to agian see economic growth. In Somalia however, with so few tourists, it will take the area a very very long time to economically recover, and since many people are giving money to specifically Asian charitees (with some notable exceptions like the Red Cross, but per head of population affected they are concentrating on Africa far less too) they aren't really being helped by the aid being given.
